C87800 is a high-silicon-manganese brass casting alloy, with a copper content of approximately 80% and strengthened by the addition of silicon and manganese elements. Compared to ordinary brass, it offers higher tensile strength and excellent wear resistance. The silicon content also imparts good anti-friction and self-lubricating properties, effectively reducing temperature rise and wear rate between mating surfaces. However, due to its low plasticity, this material is not suitable for cold working and is typically manufactured into tubes or custom-shaped components through casting processes.
Based on these characteristics, C87800 brass tubes are widely used in the production of sliding bearing bushings, worm gears, machine tool lead screw nuts, and various wear-resistant guide bushings under low-speed, heavy-load conditions. Its combination of high load-bearing capacity and low friction coefficient significantly extends the service life of mechanical assemblies, reduces maintenance frequency, and improves overall equipment reliability in industrial applications.
